What a beautiful, peaceful place.  Just what was needed - Us girls loved feeding the baby!!  It's heaven!!!  Thank you Anne & Alan.

  • Don & Marg, Quadra Island, Canada,  January 2015
We have thoroughly enjoyed our very peaceful and relaxing stay in this lovely home and cottage and beautiful surroundings.  Thank you so much for the thoughtful and tasty provisions, very much appreciated.  With best wishes.

  • Louisa, Jemma, Linda & Paul, Sydney NSW,  January 2015
We had a wonderful stay here with all the lovely wildlife and Poppy especially.  We have named the fat pademelon that visits the house regularly "Wilandra" and she really enjoys apple and zucchini scraps.  Many memories to take back home.  We recommend visiting the Grand Vewe Cheesery and Elsewhere Vineyard.  The Woodbridge weekly markets are good too.

  • John & Wendy, Jill & John, Adelaide SA & Silverdale UK,  December 2014
Great place, great location, great wildlife.  Happy memories to take back to S.A. & U.K.  A dog that was'nt a dog crossed the track as we drove in yesterday evening?

  • Samantha, Seven & Jared, Melbourne VIC,  November 2014
We had such a lovely time staying at this cute cottage in the forest.  We were not expecting the chill this late in November, so having the fire was a huge bonus and made our stay here warm and cosy.  We have been travelling around Tasmania with our 7 month old son and he was delighted to see the wallaby just outside the porch and, of course, littly Poppy who is ever so cute.  We also enjoyed walking around the gardens!  We leave now, reluctantly, but we will hopefully be back again one day to Woodbridge and this beautiful cottage in the forest.  Thank you again for a lovely stay.

  • Sylvia, Mark, Jordon & Josh, October 2014
Thank you for our wonderful stat at Woodbridge Hill Cottage.  We have so enjoyed our time here, from the moment we walked in to this gorgeous cottage the perfume from the freshly picked flowers welcomed us.  Of course our boys ran around checking out rooms and then of course up the "hobbit stairs" as they named them and were amazed with the attic rooms (and then fought over who was having the double bed).  We all enjoyed exploring the magical grounds with its beautiful pathways and gardens and outdoor fires.

  • Gary, Wendy, Hope & Georgia, September 2014
Thank you for sharing your lovely cottage with us.  We felt very welcome and relaxed here.  A perfect home from which to explore this beautiful area.  A special part of the experience was helping to care for Poppy the pademelon.

  • Alex & Edina, Melbourne, August 2014
Arrived late Friday night to this beautiful cottage with snow on the ground and all around.  One match to the set-fire and glass of wine (large!) later and the 'cosy' crept-in, and stayed the whole weekend.  We concur with all previous descriptions of this magical little place.

Winery Tip:  There are several around, the sheep cheesery "Grandvewe" was nice, just south of Woodbridge; however from Cygnet (great cafe & lounge) there was the Elsewhere Winery.  A guy called Terry runs it, marvellous man, who was happy to show us more than your average wine tasing...  Tasted next year's produce!

Thank you very much for a relaxing 4 night stay at your lovely cottage, it was so great to get away from the busy city for a while.  The kids absolutely loved feeding the family of wallabies, and they slept very soundly in their cosy little room upstairs.  Being able to light the wood fire was a real bonus, and made the cottage feel so cosy and warm.  We also enjoyed roasting marshmallows on the bonfire outside, and going for little walks around the property by torchlight was a lot of fund.  We would love to come back and stay again another time, thank you again.

  • Martin & Kat, Jarrahdale, WA, June 2014
This cosy cottage nestled amongst the Woodbridge Hills made a great base for our introduction to Hobart.  We explored everything North, South, East & West to tick all the boxes on our wish list.  Without fail at the end of every day we were greeted by "Pete" the Possum and "Paddy" the pudgy pademelon - who seemed a whole lot pudgier by the time we left!  She's not fussed on her treats, anything from apples & carrots to broccoli & cauliflower.  All in all, a great spot with the cosy comforts of home.

  • Nicola & Mark, Perth WA, June 2014
Our 4 night stay at Woodbridge Hill Cottage didn't disappoint us in fact it was much more than we had imagined!  The cold for one but such a cosy cottage with a beautiful wood fire enhanced the atmosphere!  We were particularly grateful for the electric heater coming on automatically.  Fantastic idea for those of us not used to the cold!!!  The surroundings around the cottage are so relaxing.  A perfect place to "hide away" from the hustle and bustle of "normal life".  We thoroughly enjoyed our 3 day trips out exploring the surrounding areas.  Such beauty "everywhere" we took many photos and will look back at them to remind us of our "special" time spent in our favourite holiday destination!  We, like so many others, made "friends" with your "furry friend" every afternoon on our return when "he" was waiting for our apple cores from our day out!

  • Tricia & Bruce, Mt Eliza, Vic, May 2014
Such a cosy warm cottage.  We loved the quiet and your furry friends who visited us each day.  The locals were so friendly and I spent my birthday money at the local Hand Weaver (Anne Marie at Woodbridge Hill Handweaving Studio).  I'm afraid we burnt most of the chopped wood - such blissful warmth, thank you.

  • Melanie, Rob, Xavier & Elektra, Eltham Vic, May 2014
Thank you for having us in your lovely hideaway.  The kids have had a great time catching up on "old" (in their eyes!) movies and exploring around the property.  Your wallablies are now a little fatter - they are very sweet.

  • Gerard & Brendon, April 2014, April 2014
Perfect retreat from the world, what an idyllic spot.  Loved everything about it.  Open fire, spa bath.  Pademelon (never knew they existed 'til now) favourites and the two indulgent wine glasses definitely recommended.  Thanks for the work you've obviously done to make it beautiful..

  • Claire, James & Olivia, Melbourne and Kate & Dered, Northumberland, UK, April 2014
A lovely few days in the cottage in the woods for Easter.  Great days out to Bruny Island, Salamanca Markets and a delicious lunch at Peppermint Bay, and enjoying the fire in the evenings. Our little girl loved feeding the wallabies - cauliflower and pear went down very well.  A beautiful, peaceful spot.

  • Glenys & Phil, Scarborough, QLD, April 2014
A wonderful week in this very special cottage.  We have been warm and comfortable and felt completely at home here.  The "locals" have made us very welcome, one wallaby in particular is completely tame and has a great fondness for pear and apple cores which she will gently take from your hand.  Such a delight!  Also thrilled by the variety of wonderful birds here and a beautiful black mountain possum who visits the deck every night.  It has been a joy to stay here!

  • Jim & Family, Melbourne, March 2014
A lovely, secluded cottage for our stay to enjoy the surrounds and the wider area.  Thank you Anne and Alan for all the touches and thoughtfulness for our stay.  The couple of nights we arrived "home" after dark were not as difficult as expected, your "fairly lights" on the fence were a great help (another example of thoughtfulness).

  • Zac & Tilly, February 2014
This little cottage is so lovely!  We had an amazing time away, better than any hotel!  We also really enjoyed the tranquility, native bush and curious wildlife.  The personal touches really complete the overall character, especially finding a large box of chocolates just for us!  My boyfriend and I hope to return again soon.  We will definitely be recommending Woodbridge Hill Cottage and thanks again for an absolutely amazing weekend.

  • Gerard & Lisa, Wollongong, NSW, January 2014
Wow, thanks so much for our stay in your wonderful cottage.  We are sad to be leaving and hope to return.  It was wonderful driving around and being amazed by the visitors that your are blessed with in this region.  We also followed the orange ribbons up the hill to the old cabin up there.  We had hoped to reach the other side to see the sea, but alas we didn't quite make it as the bush became thinck and we ran out of guide ribbons (maybe next time).  Thanks again, one more big breath to savour the fresh air and the off we go!

P.S. your little visitors came last night.  They loved our lettuce leaves!

  • Gina, Sar, Will, James & Chris, Sydney, NSW, 2014
What a lovely cottage!  My boys were most impressed with the attic style bedroom.  We enjoyed feeding the friendly local wallabies when we returned from dinner at the Snug Bistro which we highly recommend.  Thanks for the binoculars, they came in handy spotting the wallabies and other creatures.  We also had a day time visit by a wallaby (we think that what it was).  Boys chased bunnies, went for walks (beware the spikey flower seeds that stick to your clothes) and collected timber.  Also saw a little possum!  Goint to Perppermint Bay on our last night.  Have had an enjoyable time and are sad to go!

  • Melanie & Rob, May 2014
Thank you for having us in your lovely hideaway.  The kids have had a great time catching up on old movies (in their eyes) and exploring around the property.  Your wallabies are now a little fatter - They are very sweet.  This is exactly what was needed to escape the madness of Melbourne, thank you again.

  • Xmas 2013
Hi Anne & Alan, thank you for letting us stay in your cottage.  The Xmas tree was a wonderful surprise after a big days drive from Strahan.  We really enjoyed our stay.

  • Linda, Rachel & Louis, November 2013
Thank you so much.  We have been so lucky to have had the opportunity to stay in your lovely cottage.  Everything here is just perfect.  The Pademelon is adorable (very shy though).  Shame we didn't meet the late Rodney the Rooster.  So peaceful and just what we needed.  We will be back here as 3 days was not nearly enough.  This morning as I woke to the thought of leaving, a thunderstorm came in to say goodbye.

  • Sylije & Jan, November 2013
We've had a wonderful stay in a delightful environment.  Great thoughtfulness to the guests' comfort.  Beds were most comfortable - much appreciated.  Will come again.

  • Michelle & Dustin & Family, Townsville, QLD - July 2012
We have really enjoyed our time spent here in your cosy cottage.  It was expecially nice to wake up and see frost outside (not something you see in Townsville, QLD).  We also encountered a few visits from the pademelons.  The dense forest, hilly terrain and clean fresh air is jaw-dropping, making your cottage even more lovely to visit.

  • Andrew & Madeline, SA & Germany - June 2012
Thank you so much for the lovely time we spent in your cottage.  We had an amazing week in Tasmania and it was beautiful to relax in the spa after exciting day trips!  An absolute magical experience!

  • Wendy D., Hobart, Tasmania - July 2012
Many thanks Anne & Alan for two days peaceful retreat, just what I needed!

  • The McPhersons, Tas - June 2012
Thank you very much for sharing your beautiful place with us.  We all had a fantastic time even though too short!  Thank you for all the provisions and extras, it is appreciated and the kids especially loved the knitted dolls on their beds!  We can't wait to hopefully come back again and stay longer to truly appreciate it all.  Thank you again.

  • Kiyo & Jen  from Toronto, Canada - April 2012
Just wanted to leave a quick note to you both to thank you for sharing this place with us!  We've had a wonderful time exploring the area and coming home to such a cozy cottage.  We love it!

  • Miranda, NSW - April 2012
From the moment I found your cottage online  knew that this was the place for a short break away from the hussle and bussle of life.  Thank you for providing a serene and enchanting place to relax, unwind and rest.  I hope to have the privilege of staying here at another time.  Thank you.

  • Dave, Shane, Andrew & Lauren, Melbourne - March 2012

  • Sandy, Dave, Caitlin & Ella, Melbourne - January 2012
We've had a great time at your beautiful cottage even if it was short and sweet.  Will definitely visit again and recommend it to our friends.

  • William, Elisha, Anna & Hugh - January 2012
A very pleasant and peaceful stay.  We particularly enjoyed the sea kayaking at Kettering and the Bruny Island Cruise was quite somethiing.

  • Kathy, Geoff, Annaliese and Mannie, Sydney - January 2012
We have really enjoyed our time here at Woodbridge Hill Cottage, especially the quiet, peaceful atmosphere and the seclusion of the location.  "Rodney" rooster made us feel very welcome when we arrived.  We will certainly be recommending this cottage to our friends, as well as the Bruny Island Wilderness Cruise, we all loved it, especially the kids!  Thanks again.

  • Dani, Cam, Avalon & Wilamina, Gosford, NSW - January 2012
Your cottage was the perfect spot to show the girls how beautiful Tasmania's wilderness is.  We fed the pademelons at night, and were followed by Rodney Rooster on our exploring adventures.  Will definitely come to stay again.  Wish it was longer this time!

  • Ruth & All - January 2012
We've had a lovely time in your cottage.  Thanks for all your efforts for our comfort.  Enjoyed walking the steep mossy hills with Rodney Rooster eager for company.  Cygnet Folk Festival a great time in shuch a pretty village.

  • Julia & Chloe, Melbourne - January 2012
We have loved our stay at your beautiful cottage.  Apart from providing a cool escape from 40 degree Melbourne weather, it's been lovely to become acquainted with your dear rooster (whom we have nicknamed "Rodney") who followed us everywhere when we went tramping around the property, and seemed to delight in perching in the trees and vines outside the bedroom window (much to our entertainment!).  We also loved seeing the bunnies scurry off as we drove in each evening at dusk too.  Thanks so much for your hospitality - truly above and beyond.  The electric blankets have been a hit, even at the peak of your Tassie "summer"!

  • Phil, Paulina, Josh & Nalya, Perth, W.A. - December 2011
We had a wonderful time here at your lovely accommodation.  The children loved the new and exiting things they've discovered both in and around the house.  My daughter's comment in her travel journal read one day, ".... and my room is just beautiful!"  It was fabulous having a Christmas tree to greet us and for Santa to drop all his goodies by!  Your hospitality from phone calls, emaiils, notes and provisions on arrival were appreciated greatly.  A great experience for us all and a perfect start to our 6 week 'Epic Eastern Adventure'

  • John & Patricia, Woowona, NSW - November 2011
Love at first sight it was for us - Rustic - Just Gorgeous.  This place is a treasure waking to the bush, having left curtains drawn, plus enjoying a wood fire once more nothing like it for cosiness.  If ever in Tassie again we will try to stay here once more, enjoyed our view whilst having breakfast was a great start to the day.  Loved the free range eggs.  Imagine you will retire here - how wonderful that will be.

  • Ian & Eve, Melbourne - Sydney, October 2011
Dear Anne & Alan we have had a wonderful week here and have found the cottage and surrounds simply enchanting.  Each day as we drive back here, I make the same comment and that is how beautiful this place is.  Thank you both for having us and for the provisions you left for us.  Tasmania is truly beautiful and the people very friendly and helpful.  We are planning on coming back in a few years and this is one place we would love to stay at again.  Thank you again!  P.S.  Love the "Lily of the Valley"

  • Cath, Adam, Dylan & Rowan, Melbourne - October 2011
We are strugggling to drag ourselves away from this beautiful cottage.  It is so tranquil sitting on the deck listening to the birds and the bubbling of the brook, either in the warm spring sunshine or the gentle rain.  We have not travelled around so much because it is so pleasant here.

  • Sean, BJ, Clinton & Serena, Ceduna S.A. - August 2011
Thanks for allowing ujs to stay in your amazing little cottage!  It was well equipped and had everything we needed.  We really appreciated the milk, break, cereal, coffee etc.

  • Prue and Family, Launceston - June 2011
Idyllic little getaway, lovely.  The brushtail possum was very keen to make new friends, even allowing our 10 yearold to stroke him at the front door.

  • Nathan, Mellissa, Ned & Matilda, Queenstown, Tas - June 2011
Thank you for a comfortable stay.  We enjoyed being able to relax in cosy surroundings away from other people.  The kids enjoyed exploring the garden and watching the animals.  We love this area!

  • Lynne, Raymond, Lorraine & Eric - May 2011
We have really liked the stay, to call it the little house on the prairie, is just what we needed.  Made friends with the animals at night.  The house is so quaiint, thank you.

  • Meg, David, Charlie & Fergus - April 2011
Lovely, made the cottage our home.  Really settled in!  Blown away with the beauty, especially loved the drives from Woodbridge to Cygnet via the coast then the mirror-flat waters of the Huon River and beaches in little bays.  Breathtaking mountains into water, wildlife.

  • Belinda, Perth - April 2011
Thank you for sharing your beautiful cottage with us.  The idyllic surroundings are so much more amazing than the photos show.  We really appreciated the fire set ready for us when we arrived and the extra effort you went to for us with a bed for bug - thank you!  I only hope that next time I will be able to stay longer.

  • Joy, Esperance, W.A. - April 2011
What a wonderful place, seeing so much wildlife and the setting one you dream of and can't wait to come back and share this place with my husband.  I know he will love it too.  A few days is not long enough to explore.  Thank you so much for the opportunity to stay here and spend valuable time with my daughter and grandchildren.  God Bless.

  • Reg & Mo, Austria - Austria, February 2011
A wonderful, native retreat that provided a fitting welcome to Tasmania.

  • Susan & Edith, Vic & U.K. - February 2011
We had a magical week here.  Sat in the garden with four pademelons, eastern spinebills, thornbills and wrens and were serenaded by frogs at night.  Tried to kiss the lizard sitting on my pillow but refused to have anything to do with me - C'est la vie!  Thanks to Shane for delivering fresh extra sheets via his snappy motorbike.  All good wishes!

  • Tony & Marj, Salisbury U.K. - January 2011
Six peaceful days here and half way through our visit to Tasmania.  Very different from mainland Australia, but we are enjuoying it immensely.

  • Lisa & Damien, Hobart - October 2010
Although here fleetingly, the alpine environment, the mist, a friendly raven and rich greenery quickly made the outside world disappear, time slowed and peace reigned in this heavenly haven.  Just magic!

  • Esther & John - October 2010
We couldn't believe how pretty the cottage was when we arriived.  It surpassed all our expectations.  The snow put the icing on the cake!  We hand fed the friendly possums and enjoyed the fire place and the peaceful sunsets.  We feel rested and calm.  Thank you for the atmosphere that you create here.  It is very special.

  • Odile & Andrew - October 2010
A truly delightful spot.  We have had a wonderfully quiet and restful weekend.

  • Lennard Family - September 2010
A wonderful place to come and stay, even if it was only 1 night.  My 4 year old daughter was in her element when she saw "all the beautiful teddies!" and as an extra treat we had snow falling most of the afternoon.  I couldn't imagine anything more peaceful than being warm and cosy inside with snow falling outside - an absolute delight for both kids and adults!  Thank you for such a perfect family getaway.

  • Ray & Adam - August 2010
Truely a place to pause, listen and drink in the serenity!

  • Merinda & Tim, Melbourne - August 2010
We loved waking up to see the frost covering everything and the adorable pademelon bouncing up to see what we were up to.  You have a lovely place here, and we've very mucyh enjoyed our privacy and peace and quiet.  Thank you!

A wonderful comfortable place!  The aura here re-awakens the soul, we had a wonderful stay.

  • The Dahlu Family, Brisbane - July 2010
Woodbridge Hill Cottage was more than we expected, very cosy.  It was lovely to arrive to the frosty hills and see the frost the next morning.  A novelty for us Queenslanders.  Location was just what we needed - a nice getaway but still close enough to Hobart and the Huon Valley attractions.

  • Rowena & Maurice (Hobart) - June 2010
What a beautiful little cottage hidden from the world.  Our stay was very relaxing and memorable.  We will be back again & again.  We will recommend this to friends.  P.S. Just love your DVD collection!

  • Rebecca, Tony, Josh & Mark - June 2010
A beautiful peaceful place!  We all enjoyed our stay so much.  We can't wait to come back!

  • Louisa & David (Melbourne) - May 2010
Whast a magical stay.  We felt we were living in a Fairy Tale in an enchanted forest.  Our only regret was our stay was too short.  The blanket of white frost this morning completed the magical picture and took me back to my European roots.  Can't wait to come back again!  Thank you Anne & Alan for letting us share your piece of paradise.

  • J & J (Sunshine Coast, Queensland) - April 2010
Peaceful little spot far away from the mad world we all seem to live in these days.  Loved your feathered friends.

Staying here was a lovely birthday treat for Tom.  The cottage is really whimsical and romantic in such a cradle of peace.  A wonderfully restorative break from the everyday.

  • Nicole & Tony - October 2009
Wow, thank you so much for the wonderful seclusion.  We loved every moment of our stay.  The fire welcomed us, the rain invited us to snuggle in and the sun on the hills beckoned us to explore.

  • Katunay - October 2009
Anne & Alan thank you for the use of your beautiful cottage.  I have stayed in many places and this would have to be the most restful and tranquil.  The way you have developed and maintained the natural beauty of the cottage and landscape is a credit to you both.

It's been such a pleasure to stay here.  It's very relaxing and a quite place.  The view also is incredible.

  • Chris, Sue, Ruth & Cherie - April 2009
This would have to be one of the nicest cottages in one of the nicest areas of Australia.  Thank you for your attention to detail and for making our stay so enjoyable.  Bruny Island and the Tahune Airwalk are both to be recommended.

  • Fan & Rose - April 2009
We enjoyed our stay, loved the surroundings, birds, wallaby and the chickens.  It was refreshing to visit the Huonville area again.  We also love to collect the fresh oysters on the outskirts of Cygnet when we visit Tasmania.

  • Janne & Ian - April 2009
Thank you Anne & Alan.  El & I had a wonderful time bonding mother and daughter.  To be back tonight for Ian's birthday is also special after lunch at Peppermint Bay and dinner at Fleurty's - wow a great piece of paradise and thank you once again, I will spread the word.

  • Jeannette & Graeme, Hobart - January 2008
What a wonderful piece of paradise!  Tucked away in a peaceful spot with such a variety of trees and plants, and a house with  character (and comfort).  We were guests at a wedding at Hartzview Vinyard yesterday so this 'secret hideaway' was perfect for convenience and ambience.  The pademelon has just arrived and is enjoying fresh apple, and we have eggs for breakfast!  The walk along the creek was so tranquil and pretty.  We also wish we were here for longer!  2 days gives a taste for more.  Thanks for a renewing stay.

  • Terri - February 2008
Wonderful, comfortable, our own piece of paradise

  • Ross - November 2008
Great relaxing place and just perfect if you are stressed

  • Team "Badger"  - January 2008
Dear Anne & Alan, fantastic, great, loved it!  You're so lucky to have a place like this.  Unfortunately no pademelons though.  By the way, that white hen is still guarding those eggs!

  • Judy & Andrew-- January20008
What a wonderful place to stay!  We have enjoyed every minute and explored it all - the Huon Valley and all it has to offer.  We hope to be back again one day soon.  Your lovely touches were greatly appreciated - The white hen guarded the eggs feveriously but we still had omelettes for dinner one night!  Best wishes.

  • Janice & Ala- - January 2008
Thanks for making the house so welcomiing with all your festive decorations and touches of festive food such as your shortbread biscuits and nuts to crack.  The list is endless with all your special touches and just wanted to let you know it is all appreciated!  It's been a wonderful change from our abode in China and will rave highly to all our friends of our stay at Woodbridge Hill Cottage.

  • Morell Family, Guang Zhou, China - January 2008
We absolutely loved staying here in the little 'Ginger bread house' as we called it.  We all loved the little hens and we adored the timid little Pademelon that crept up to us in the evening!  It has the bigggest eyes I've seen on a Pademelon.

  • Alan & Janice (China) - December 2007
An old worldly cottage snugly settled away from any traffic was ideal for my family of 3 adults and my 2 pre-teenagers. We were welcomed with a refrigerator of breakfast food and fresh eggs from the resident hens (which my daughter enjoyed feeding). The festive Christmas decorations as well as other special touches complimented everything about the cottage and the season.

  • Daniela - September 2007
Loved it!  Though the weather was bad we enjoyed every minute in the cottage - reading, relaxing, enjoying the fire place!

  • Daniela & Martin - October 2007
Dear Anne & Alan, thank you for the wonderful hospitality and we enjoyed your cottage very much, it was like a home away from home! The 3 days have passed by much too fast and we wish we could have stayed longer - Thanks again!

  • Greg & Stella - October 2007
This is a truly magnificant place. We loved it, it was cosy and warm and we felt truly at home. Thank you for your hospitality and your thoughtfulness felt very welcomed. Wallaby was kept fed!

  • Dave & Shirley - September 2007
Anne & Alan, thank you for letting us enjoy your lovely cottage. I cannot believe how rested we are from the 7 day stay and the places we visited. You have a place that feels like home to us. I rate this five star in my eyes and the quietness is a true feature!

  • Maureen - February 2007
We found the whole experience at Woodbridge relaxing and peaceful just what we were looking for. It is a beautiful setting, close to things, not too far from Hobart. Our accommodation was more than satisfactory and everything was provided. There were lots of little touches which made it very homey. Being able to walk all over the property and explore was great. The local wildlife made it pretty special. We felt we were in the middle of no where yet down the hill was wonderful coffee and food.

  • Juliette - June 2007
What a cosy cottage, when we arrived the fire was on, there were some treats left by the owner, the personal touch was really valued by us. The forest around the property was spectacular.

  • Kettie & Adrian - December 2006
Our stay here was perfect, thank you so much for the lovely goodies you left out for us, the wine was an excellent choice. Thank you once again for our stay in your cosy cottage, it was simply perfect.
